Today we started planning on our opening scene. We started, thinking about the setting, how many shots, the props and all that jazz. Here's what we came up with.
Today we did and learned about genre and iconography. Genres in films are the categories that help defines a movie based on its narrative elements. Iconography is using certain visual images or symbols used to deliver key information about the story, genre, or time frame. We put one genre that we wanted to research and then picked a well-known actor in that specific genre and talked about their different characters in various films. I chose the genre comedy/romance and the actor I talked about was Kevin Hart. Welcome to My AICE Media Studies Blog Media studies is a very engaging class to be in as it is very interesting as you get to learn about the different aspects of media. Media Studies is something that is very important to learn as it helps people analyze how companies use it to help form our perspective of the world around us of the past, the present, and the future. My personal favorite media products would have to be movies, television, and most importantly music. Music is really something that confronts me and makes me happy. Television and movies are not to find behind on that spectrum as I would isolate myself in my room and binge-watch them all day. Personally, what I find interesting about media studies is learning the full break down of how media works around us.
